Deleting your account
How to delete your Wispr Tasks account and everything in it, what disappears immediately, what we're required to keep, and how to reach us if you can't get into the app.
Delete it yourself, from the app
Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Your data → Delete account. Confirm, and the account is gone. There's no waiting period and no support ticket in between — the app calls the same endpoint we would.
Because it can't be undone, export your tasks first if you want a copy. Settings → Export everything puts your full task history on the clipboard in a format Wispr can read back later.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not cancel a Wispr Pro subscription. Apple owns that billing relationship, not us, so it keeps renewing until you turn it off yourself: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Wispr Tasks → Cancel. Do that before deleting the account, or you'll be paying for something you can no longer sign in to.
If you can't sign in
Email support@wisprtasks.xyz from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm it's you before we touch anything, and we complete the deletion within 30 days of that confirmation — usually the same week. Tell us the account email; you don't need to explain why.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account goes at once: your tasks, subtasks, notes, tags, spaces you own, due dates and reminders, your voice recordings and any transcripts made from them, your profile and avatar image, your streaks, levels, and achievements, your onboarding answers and settings, and the tokens for any calendar or mail account you connected — those are revoked, so we lose access at the same moment you do.
Spaces you were invited to but don't own stay with their owner. Your membership and anything you personally wrote in them is removed.
What we keep, and why
Billing records. Apple and RevenueCat keep the record of a purchase for their own tax and accounting obligations. We can't delete those on your behalf, and neither can you; they contain a transaction, not your tasks.
Crash reports. Sentry may still hold a diagnostic trace from a crash on your device. It carries device and error information, never task content, and it ages out automatically within 90 days.
Backups. Our database backups roll on a 30-day window. Your rows are gone from the live database the moment you delete; they finish aging out of backups within those 30 days, and nothing restores them in the meantime.
Deleting your data but keeping the account
If you want a clean slate rather than an exit, Settings → your name → Your data → Delete data removes your tasks and recordings and leaves the account, the subscription, and your settings intact.
